Indications: Wound infections, Septicaemia, Enteritis, Meningitis, Endometritis, Mastitis, Glanders, Strangels, surgical wound, post operative therapy.

Benefits:
  1. BIOMOX-VET injection has the synergism of two antibiotics offering enhanced bactericidal action against a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms.
  2. BIOMOX-VET injection is effective against Penicillinase producing and coagulase positive pathogenic bacteria.
  3. BIOMOX-VET injection highly beneficial in septicaemic or febrile conditions as the penetration of this formulation greatly enhances with active inflammation.
  4. BIOMOX-VET injection is safe for use in pregnant or debilitated animals due to its high margin of safety.
  5. BIOMOX-VET injection is compatible with intravenous Dextrose or Saline drip.
Mode of action: Ampicillin effective kills many pathogenic gram positive and gram negative bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. The amino pencillin group in its side chain improves its penetration through negatively charged outer membrane of gram negative bacteria. However, Ampicillin is inffective against Penicillinase producing bacteria. The combination of Ampicillin with CLoxacillin (Penicillinase resistant antibiotic)² in BIOMOXVETinjection improves the bacterial activity of Ampicillin against Penicillinase producing bacteria, as Cloxacillin selectively binds and inactivates the Pencillinase enzyme. In addition, Cloxacillin is very efficient in destroying Coagulase positive bacteria inhibiting their cell wall synthesis.

Pharmcokinetics : BIOMOX-VET injection distributes rapidly (more quickly with active inflammation) to most body fluids and tissues after administration. High concentrations are found in liver , intestines and skin. The antibiotics is sparingly serum bound and is least metabolised, thereby providing very high bioavailability. The excretion is mainly through urine.
Dosages: BIOMOX-VET injection is given @6-10mg per kg body weight for 2-3 days by intramuscular or intravenous routes.

Administration: BIOMOX-VET injection powder is dissolved in 10-15 ml distilled water for administration.
It can safely be administered with 5% Dextrose or Normal Saline Solution via intravenous route.

Recommended for: Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep, Goat, Camel, Horse, Pig, Dog, Cat.

Presentation: BIOMOX-VET injection is available as 2gm, 3gm, and 4gm powders in glass vials.

BIOMIDE - VET
Niclosamide Bolus (Vet)
BIOMIDE VET is anthelmintic containing Niclosamide active against tapeworms and intestinal flukes such as paramphistomum in ruminants.

BIOMIDE VET inhibits phosphorylation in the mitochondria of cestodes. Both in vitro and in vivo, the scolex and proximal segments are killed on contact with the drug. The loosened scolex may be digested in the intestine; hence, it may be impossible to identify the scolex in the faeces.  NICVET-500is taenicidal in action and eliminates not only the segments but also scolex.

BIOMIDE VET activity against the worms appears to be due to inhibition of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation; anaerobic ATP production is also affected.

The cestocidal activity of BIOMIDE VET is due to the inhibition of absorbtion of glucose by the tapeworm and to the uncoupling of the oxidative phosphorylation process in the mitochondria of cestodes. The accumulated lactic acid resulting from the blocking of Krebs cycle kills the worms.

Indications:
BIOMIDE VET is indicated in both tapeworm infestation of Livestock, Poultry, Dogs and Cats and also in immature paramphistomiasis (Amphistomiasis) of Cattle, Sheep and Goats.

Tapeworms:
Cattle, Sheep Goats and Deer: Moniezia Species Thysanosoma (Fringed Tape worms) Dogs: Dipylidium Caninum, Taenia Pisiformis T. hydatigena and T. taeniaeformis. Horses: Anoplocephalid infections Poultry: Raillietina and Davainea

Amphistomiasis: (Immature Paramphistomes)
In cattle and Sheep, Rumen flukes (Paramphistomum species) is very common. Whereas the adult flukes attached to the rumen wall could be of little significance, the immature ones are seriously pathogenic causing heavy damage and mortality while migrating in the duodenal wall.
Animals showing symptoms of severe anorexia, increased intake of water, and watery fetid diarrhoea should be suspected for amphistomiasis and immediately treated with BIOMIDE VET to prevent death and loss of production since BIOMIDE VET provides consistently very high efficacy against the immature flukes.

Composition
Each uncoated bolus contains:
Niclosamide I.P. 500 mg.

Administration and dosage
BIOMIDE VET in feed or as such.

Against Tapeworms
Cattle, Sheep and Horses: 500 mg. bolus for 10 kg body weight
Dogs and Cats: 500 mg. bolus for 5 kg body weight

Against Amphistomes
Cattle & Sheep: Higher dosage at the rate of 500 mg. bolus / 5 kg body weight.

Safety: BIOMIDE VET has a wide margin of safety. Overdosing of Niclosamide upto 40 times in sheep and cattle have been found to be non-toxic. In Dogs and cats, twice the recommended dosage causes no ill effects except softness of the faeces. BIOMIDE VET can safely be used in all phases of pregnancy and in debilitated subjects without adverse effects.

Contra-indications: There are no contra-indications to the use of Niclosamide.

Use with other anthelmintics: Niclosamide can be used in conjunction with several other drugs. For example Niclosamide can be simultaneously administered with Levamisole Hcl to eradicate mixed worm infestations of Nematodes, Cestodes and Amphistomes.

Presentation: 10 x 4 bolus in blister.

BIOTRIM VET
Trimethoprim & Sulphadiazine Bolus (Vet)
Composition
Each uncoated Bolus contains:
Sulphadiazine I.P : 2000 mg
Trimethoprim I.P. : 400 mg

Sulphadiazine in BIOTRIM VET Bolus inhibits bacterial synthesis of dihydrofolic acid by competing with paraaminobenzoic acid.

Trimethoprim in BIOTRIM VET Bolus blocks the bacterial synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid from dihydrofolic acid binding to and reversibly inhibiting the enzyme, dihydrofolate reductase.

The combination of these drugs is the more rational, since the persistence of these two drugs is reasonably similar, the sulphadiazine being slightly more persistent. Thus sulphadiazine and trimethoprim potentiate each others action. Even though both drugs are bacteriostatic individually, the combination makes them bactericidal.

Actions
VETADINE is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including Actinomyces spp, B.anthracis, Bordetella, Brucella, Clostridia, Corynebacterium, E.coli, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Pasturella, Proteus, Salmonella spp., Staphylococci and Streptococci and Vibrio spp.

Following oral administration of BIOTRIM VET there is a significant antibacterial concentration in the gut. Plasma levels are achieved in 2-6 hours.

BIOTRIM VET is a very safe antibacterial, where 10 times of the therapeutic dose is tolerated without toxic effects.

NEOPLUS - 20 (WS)
Neomycin Powder 20% w/w (Vet)
Neomycin is a broad spectrum antibiotic belonging to the aminoglycosides group with a bactericidal action.
Neomycin is active against various gram negative bacteria and against several gram positive bacteria e.g. Staphylococcus spp. Neomycin disturbs the bacterial protein synthesis by its action on the ribosomes.
Neomycin by oral administration is a very convenient and safe way of treating enteric infections due to gram-negative organisms.

Pharmacokinetics: After oral administration Neomycin is not absorbed or very poorly absorbed (to the extent of about 3%) from the gastrointestinal tract. Most of the drug is mainly excreted unchanged in the faeces.

Indications:
The use of Neomycin is indicated in bacterial enteritis caused by gram negative bacteria.

Poultry : Bacterial Enteritis commonly caused by E.Coli, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis and Staphylococcal infections.
Sheep & Goat : Enterotoxaemia of Lamb, Bloody Dysentery - Bacterial Enteritis.
Calves : E. Coli - Enterotoxicosis, Salmonellosis, Scours and White Scours.
Horse : Vibrionic Dysentery
Swine : Diarrhoea, Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis, and Leptospirosis.

Composition:
Each gram contains:
Neomycin Sulphate I.P. .... 20% W/W in water soluble base

Dosage:
Poultry

BIOMOX - 50
Amoxycillin Tetrahydrate Powder 50% (Vet)
Biomox-50 is broad spectrum, water soluble, bactericidal, antibiotic and is indicated in a wide range of infectious diseases such as respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, secondary bacterial infections following viral infections, polyarthritis and infections of the biliary and urinary tracts.

Biomox-50 is active against wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria. CORE-50 acts quickly as a bactericide and is more effective against gram negative bacteria in comparison to Ampicillin.

Biomox-50 is rapidly and completely absorbed from gastrointestinal tract and achieves high serum concentrations to fight against diseases. Biomox-50 is stable in acid and is best suitable for oral use.
Biomox-50 is not affected in the presence of feed and water and is well absorbed in poultry.

Biomox-50 : Pharmacodynamics
Biomox-50 inhibits the normal development in the bacterial cell wall of the peptidoglycan network structure. Biomox-50 has the important property that it can reach the peptidoglycan network more quickly than Ampicillin. When tissue fluid concentrations are similar to those of Ampicillin bactericidal concentrations of Biomox-50 reach the required site much more quickly.

Biomox-50: Pharmacokinetics
Biomox-50 in all animals when administered orally, is absorbed rapidly and completely from the gastrointestinal tract and distributed to the various tissues. Absorption is not inhibited by the presence of food particles, so that Biomox-50 is much better absorbed than Ampicillin. Biomox-50 is acid resistant. Biomox-50 is excreted in the kidney by glomerular and active tubular filtration. However, most of it is excreted via the bile.

Indications:
E. Coli infections, CRD complex and Infectious coryza, Fowl Cholera, Fowl Typhoid and Pullorum disease, Wing rot, Necrotic enteritis, Botulism, Septicaemic conditions, Arthritis, stress and performance slumps.

Dosage and Administration:
Preventive use: 1 gm./10 ltrs. of water – 3-5 days.
Treatment use: 1 gm./5 ltrs. of water – 5-7 days.
Only medicated water should be made available to the birds. Make drinking water solutions fresh every day.

Composition:
Amoxycillin Trihydrate I.P.50%
